Castlebury

Castlebury, a three-piece studio band that records original music in a mysterious, secret location in the Great Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina, proudly presents their first nationally distributed effort, CASTLEBURY COUNTRY. Their music is pure, unadulterated, genuine, bone fide, country music... something we don't get enough of today.

Fraternity Records is proud to present CASTLEBURY COUNTRY to over 25,000 radio stations throughout America and its' possessions. This unique band is made up of three people whose paths have luckily crossed to create this music endeavor. They are:

Susan Costine, on vocals. Susan brings her lovely voice and song-writing talents, to help complete the Castlebury sound. She lives in Florida, where she continues to write, sing, and be surrounded by the lovely fragrance of orange blossoms. Susan Costine
Dave Magill, keyboards, guitar, and instrumentation, is the wizard behind CASTLEBURY COUNTRY sound. Dave has been playing professionally for over thirty years. He has played base, piano, guitar and drums. In 1973, he migrated to Austin, Texas with a country band. In 1979, he moved to New Mexico, playing guitar and piano with singer Tish Hinojosa, and later joined Michael Murphy's road band as pianist for an early '80's tour. Returning to Austin in the late '80's, Dave played for Lee Roy Parnell's band, and built his recording studio in the early '90's. Dave lives in North Carolina where he continues to perform and run his recording studio, the Music Room Studio, in Webster, North Carolina. Dave Magill
Rounding out the threesome, Steve Whiddon, began playing the piano, by ear, at age three, which he says was quite difficult. (His mother thought is would be a lot easier to use his hands and fingers). He grew up in Lakeland, Florida and for many years played clubs until the early 2000, when the Great Smoky Mountains lured him back. Steve was the organist for the Detroit Tigers for several years at their spring training home in Lakeland, Florida. He is a sought after studio musician, a very active singer and songwriter, and has worked some of the finest clubs in the South. Steve has recorded four albums and is the creator of Castlebury. He now resides in Magee Valley, North Carolina, where he spends a lot of his time trout fishing, exploring the Smoky's, singing, playing and writing these wonderfully pure, unique country songs. Steve Whiddon

We know you will enjoy the purity of CASTLEBURY COUNTRY. Fraternity Records is proud to present a unique group, CASTLEBURY... coming soon to a radio station near you.

P.S. Rumor has it that the exact location where Castlebury records, is just down the road a tad from the Post Office in Webster, North Carolina, and a stones throw from the local gas station.
