Violet Says 5
"Violet Says 5" is a trio made up of Eaon Burnsfury, Christof Kelay and Rollin Westcaht. Eaon discovered that Violet the flower numbs the senses after prolonged exposure. With this meaning he decided that Violet was a perfect name for the band. "Says" was added, along with the 5, which derives from the 5 string guitar which was used on a majority of the songs. And thus, Violet Says 5 was born.
As "Violet Says", the group was approached by Italleric; an anonymous local established veteran producer. Poised for national recognition, "Violet Says 5"; a big contender exemplifying passion, appeal for all ages, and a unique singing style, contains ultra-groove-matic mind healing possibilities for ailments due to over exposure of everyday stress and social soot.
After only four weeks to radio, Violet Says 5 is heading for 50 stations! Listen for them on Fraternity Records!
Eaon Burnsfury
As a young boy, Eaon was inspired to take up music by his favorite cousin, the late Del Rio, famed jazz guitarist. Being an army brat, he moved often, and music became one of the few things that stayed constant in his life. After having been in too many bands to mention, he realized that good singers are hard to come by. So he started singing himself, having decided that the old adage "If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself." was very true. After a few years of being influenced by such Blues singers as John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf, and Muddy Waters, Eaon has developed a unique singing voice. Once you hear Eaon's vocals, you'll never forget them.
Rollin Westcaht
Music has always been a part of Rollin Westcaht's life. After learning to play the guitar from his late Grandfather Jimmy Moore, a notable DC musician of the 70's and 80's, he knew that he had to hone this gift. While living in Western North Carolina, 13 year old Rollin joined up with local musicians to form the band "Redhanded". With a focus on blues, rock, and originals, the band played the local areas. The crowds were blown away as they heard the sounds of a veteran guitar player emanating from this kid. More recently, he has become the leader of the "Westcott Brothers Band". He then joined "Violet Says 5".
Christof Kelay
Coming from a family of musicians, Christof has music in his blood. At the age of 12, he began playing bass, then piano and percussion. He was the alternate guitarist for the Maryland Allstate Jazz Ensemble. He studied at St. Mary's college, playing in the big band, and graduated from Towson University with a Bachelors in Music. He brought his skills to the band "9 Deuce", a Baltimore funk/hiphop band which opened for greats like "De La Soul" and George Clinton. "Violet Says 5" drummer Eaon Burnsfury hunted him down and convinced him to join a band that will soon be a household name.
