Dale and The Dragons are not what you think. They're not a traveling supergroup, a geological marvel, or a children's nursery rhyme with hidden messages of narcotics abuse. Instead, they are Dale Anderson's visions - created by the memories which have been the soundtrack of his life and by the hard-won lessons he has learned along the way.

I have been unbelievably lucky to have him as the greatest role model of my life, a man who believes in passion, dreams, and perserverance... and a father who wants nothing less for those he loves. He has said that he hopes we never grow apart, but what he doesn't realize is that we never can. The song in his heart is now the one in mine, and it will never fade away. After all, those who listen to the music "never will grow old".

WHO IS DALE ANDERSON? Dale is a public school teacher from Gilroy, California. He has a BA in Political Science and a MA in Educational Administration as well as lifetime teaching and Administrative Services credentials. During his 25-year teaching career, he has concentrated on teaching grades 1 through 6 in Hollister, California. His is a special and very rewarding career, having taught English academic and social "survival" skills to Spanish-speaking students from Mexico and other Spanish-speaking countries. What sets Dale apart from mainstream educators is his combination of teaching and musical skills, which, when combined in a classroom setting, affords the students an easier grasp of the subjects being taught. Dale uses his music not only in the classroom but is also very active with the school and community, setting up assemblies and working with the students for their overall academic and musical education. "Children who participate in vocal or instrumental music classes have greater self-esteem and a greater sense of personal pride in their school environment and academic performance in the classroom." In additional to playing the guitar during school music assemblies, Dale uses a large movie screen and highlights the words to the songs he is performing. While most of his assemblies take place in a smaller, more personal venue, Dale has performed with up to a dozen musicians from intimate classrooms to outdoor amphitheaters seating 10,000! Dale's popular "CONCERTS FOR KIDS" continues to be not only a popular favorite with the school children but is also a means of raising money for children's charities. In addition to the new CD, Dale is putting the finishing touches on his first novel, Fathers and Sons.

It's easy to be a Monday morning quarterback! We all do it. It's the one way we can always be right! It's now my turn to be right!

After working with Dale for the past 6 years and becoming an integral part of his musical projects, I have come to the conclusion that in this new CD there is an "absolute number ONE smash HIT record" as Harry Carlson, the founder of Fraternity Records used to say. However, in today's music world, it would be impossible for this song to surface. In my opinion, it is too heartfelt. It is too simple. It is too poignant. It is too bad that we don't have the appreciation for the simple, meaningful songs that graced the national charts when I was behind the mikes at some of America's greatest radio stations.

I told Dale... "What a shame that you didn't write this song, "Old Friends", when these types of recordings were appreciated by listeners of all ages." There is no doubt in my mind that if "Old Friends" was released during the heyday of rock 'n roll, it would sit proudly at the top of the charts! Along with this, my very favorite, "Old Friends", you'll find an interesting mix of wonderful music, written and performed by our dedicated teacher friend, Dale Anderson. I'm proud to have been a part of the "Journey of a Lifetime" project. I know you'll enjoy the sounds of Dale and The Dragons!
